Vessel Details
Mawali is a catamaran type "Marquises 56" constructed
by the shipyard Fountaine-Pajot and launched on the 5th of
March 1997.
Mawali was designed for being used on charter with crew in
the West Indies. In cooperation with the shipyard she was equipped
to meet the needs of high standard professional charter.
Alain Rollet was the initiator of the project. He was present
during the construction phase, joined the launch and surveyed
the tests of the equipment and the boat after the launch. He
presented the boat to the Officials to receive the allowance
for commercial use. Alain was crossing the Atlantic with Mawali
and sailed her to Martinique.
DESCRIPTION
Mawali is a catamaran with 4 double cabins
-130 sq ft each -whereby the double beds of the aft cabins
can be transformed
into single beds. Each cabin has its own bathroom with shower,
sink and WC.
The cabin of the skipper (double bed) is located
on the aft of the boat. In the front end of the two hulls
are two
single crew cabins. The bathroom of the crew is located in
the port hull.
Each cabin is equipped with big closets and drawers, air-conditioning,
1 fan and 2 reading lights at the head end of the beds. The
mattresses are protected with removable and washable covers.
The saloon provides a dining corner with a
big table comfortable for 8 guests and a living room corner
with a couch table. Each
table is surrounded by a couch which cushions are covered with
blue, specially marine treated, removable leather. In the salon
there is as well a Stereo set, a TV, a video recorder, a library,
DVD player with surround sound, a CD and a video collection.
The woodwork is done in "Padouk", the walls and
ceilings are partly covered with "Alcantara", the
tables and work surfaces are made from "Corian".
Scuba diving: Mawali was also designed for
diving charters. Besides the "hydraulic tender lift" she
is equipped with all the necessary material:
Compressor with 4 outputs, ventilation system, 8 complete
equipments, security material.
Tender Lift: The hydraulic platform located on the aft of
the boat between the two hulls allows the haul out and transport
of the dinghy and the launch of the scuba divers or swimmers.
The haul out or launch of the dinghy (220 kg) takes one-minute
max.
